ZigZag Rolling Paper
ZigZag Rolling Paper’s story is really that of moments coming together. Originating in Paris in 1879, two brothers (Maurice and Jacques Braunstein) would purchase large rolls of paper and process them into usable rolling papers. During the Great Exposition, the two brother created an interleaving process that would auto-dispense the next rolling paper after one was pulled from the packaging booklet. This was huge at the time, and it was this interleaving process that sparked the idea for the company name, Zig Zag. In the 1960’s, the name and the figure that is on the packaging gained some fame, as the brand made it’s way into unrelated advertisements, like with Big Brother and the Holding Company. Once at that point of public awareness, the company took off.
Throughout the years, Zig-Zag has continued to innovate and meet the needs of an evolving market.
